Use the building geometry and room boundaries with fabric constructions, glazing, shading, infiltration and ventilation inputs. Add occupancy, equipment gains and operating schedules so the assessment reflects how each space is used. Keep the source and assumptions with the model.
Calculate loads, comfort and energy
Calculate heating and cooling loads and assess the effect of changing weather, solar gains and occupancy on thermal performance. Investigate overheating and compare fabric, glazing, shading and control options. Review heating and cooling duties in kW by room and system, with the inputs and calculation basis alongside each result.
Size and select the equipment
Carry room and system duties into equipment sizing. Reference manufacturer performance data at the design conditions, together with dimensions, connections and access requirements. Keep the selected capacity linked to the thermal assessment that established the duty.
Draw and coordinate the design
WYRM draws the sized services into the building layout. Coordinate plant, terminals, distribution routes and other disciplines, then carry the selections into the Revit workflow, specifications and schedules. Changes to the building feed back into the assessment and the affected design work.
Keep low energy design in the same package
Connect thermal performance with lighting and daylighting, ventilation and controls. Bring Passivhaus considerations and the information required for PHPP into the same project context, keeping fabric, energy demand and services design connected.

- Compare heating and cooling demand, comfort and solar gains. Carry the selected glazing option into the equipment duties, manufacturer selections and coordinated services layout, with the calculations and design documents reflecting the same decision.

How are results reviewed?
Review the assessment method, inputs, units and assumptions alongside the result. Your engineer decides how the assessment informs the design and which further checks the project requires.
