Agentic MEP / COBie data

Bring MEP asset information into the handover

Carry equipment selections, manufacturer references and coordinated locations into structured COBie handover data.

Explore the workflow

Start with the information requirement

Establish the asset information the client needs and the COBie deliverable required for the project. Agree the required structure, fields and handover expectations before compiling the data.

Connect the asset to the design

Connect each asset to the equipment selected for the calculated duty, its manufacturer and product reference, its coordinated location and the system it serves. Use the model, schedules and product documents to populate the handover record.

Review completeness and consistency

Check required values, references and document links against the project requirement. Identify missing information while the engineering and delivery teams can still resolve it.

Prepare the handover

Bring the structured data together with the relevant documentation. Agree the exchange format and validation requirements with the receiving team so the deliverable supports the intended handover process.

Example workflow

Prepare an equipment record for handover

Start with
An equipment reference, its type, location and system, plus the relevant product and maintenance documents.
Work towards
Map the information to the required COBie fields and check it against the client's information requirements. Resolve missing references and documentation before compiling the handover deliverable.

Working with your team

Is COBie the same as a Revit model?

COBie is structured asset information for handover. A Revit model can be one source of that information, alongside schedules and project records. The information requirement determines what needs to be delivered.

Can we use our client's COBie requirements?

The client's information requirements and requested deliverable form the starting point. Discuss the required fields, sources, exchange format and checking process when defining the pilot workflow.
